Advertising This page contains information on advertising with us.
We offer you a possibility of placing your banners on our website. Banners are pictures (adverts) representing your company. By way of example, a banner might be a logo of your company or a photo of your product. User's click on a banner will open your website or will open a separate page with some information on your activities. The service of placing a banner on our website is available at a fee. See below for the fee structure, size of banners and position of banners on our website.
The banner will be supplied by you. The required banner must be of 120 x 60 pixels (picture size) and max 20 kB (file size).
We can also design a banner for you. The standard rate for this service is:
- $15 for a static text
- $20 for an animated text
- $35 for a static picture
- $50 for an animated picture
- $80 for a flash movie
This price may be different if you have special requirements. The prices above are additional to the price of advertisement shown in the formula below. See further for an example of each type.
Typically user's click on a banner will open your website. However, if you prefer, clicking a banner will open a separate page with some information on your activities and full contact details, as supplied by you. Building a separate page with the information will incur an additional fee of $50.
We can also place a "feature company" larger banner on the home page. Click on a picture will show a separate page with details and activities of your company. Text and picture will be supplied by you. The fee for this service is $200 and the banner will be placed for 1 month.
There are various options of placing an advert on our website. Choose the one that suits you most. All these options have a different impact on the price as shown in the formula below.
- (M) an advert can be placed for a number of months (M in formula);
currently, however, the maximum period of placing an advert is 6 months (M=6);
the longer the period, the greater the reduction in price and the lower the price per month;
our bonus: we will show your advert after it expires for as long as the space is available;
- (W) an advert can be placed on any of the following pages of our website:
W = 1.0 for the 1st category page - home page
W = 0.8 for the 2nd category page - input and find ship design
W = 0.8 for the 2nd category page - input and find ship for sale
W = 0.8 for the 2nd category page - input and find cargo / TC
W = 0.6 for the 3rd category page - input and find purchase enquiry
W = 0.6 for the 3rd category page - input and find ship for demolition
W = 0.6 for the 3rd category page - input and find equipment
W = 0.4 for the 4th category page - find company
An advert will be placed on both Input and Find pages of a selected category. E.g., if you choose to place an advert on design forms, the same advert will appear on the following forms: Input Ship Design, Find Ship Design.
- (P) an advert can be placed on a different position of a page
P = 1.00 for an advert placed on the top of home page and on other pages
P = 0.95 for a 2nd from top advert placed on the right side of home page
P = 0.90 for a 3rd from top advert placed on the right side of home page
P = 0.85 for a 4th from top advert placed on the right side of home page
P = 0.80 for a 5th from top advert placed on the right side of home page
P = 0.75 for a 6th from top advert placed on the right side of home page
- (F) an advert can consist of the following file types:
F = 1.0 for a static text
F = 1.1 for an animated text
F = 1.2 for a static picture
F = 1.3 for an animated picture
F = 1.6 for a flash movie
Please note that most Internet browsers support a flash movie, but not all. In a marginal number of browsers this type may not always behave as expected.
We currently support the following file types for banners: .jpg, .gif, .swf (flash movie).
Below are examples of each type of advert:
- (U) unit price for an advert is currently
U = US$10
This is a special price and will be valid for a limited period until further notice.
An advert placed at this price will be valid for the entire period purchased.
Use the formula below to calculate the cost of placing an advert on our website and round the number to the nearest $1:
PRICE = (1 - 0.02 x M) x M x W x P x F x U
For instance, an advert for 3 months (M=3), placed on the home page (W=1.0), on the 4th position from top (P=0.85), consisting of an animated picture (F=1.3) at a unit price of $10 (U=10) will cost:
PRICE = (1 - 0.02 x 3) x 3 x 1.0 x 0.85 x 1.3 x 50 = $31
(The above example may not use current unit price. For your own calculation please use the current unit price U.)
